After years of building his companies RealtyForCash.com and SolarTrueUp.com, California businessman Jerry Becerra is going international with a long awaited passion project. He is stepping into artist management with a focus on bridging the gap between American producers and Latin American artists – specifically within the Argentinian Trap and Colombian Reggaeton genres. To anyone who is familiar with these subsets, it is no secret that both Argentina and Colombia have rapidly become hotspots with an abundance of raw talent ready to be discovered.
What started out as freestyle rap battles on the streets of Argentina’s vibrant capital of Buenos Aires, has quickly become a phenomenon in the music industry – coining them as an emerging leader in the dynamic world of trap music. It only takes a quick search on YouTube to see the staggering reach that these talented artists have generated, some reaching over a billion views on a single video. “There’s no question that hip-hop originated in New York just the way trap originated in Atlanta but Argentina is doing something ridiculous and I’m bringing that here to the US” says Becerra. Similarly in recent years, Colombia has swiftly commanded the attention of international audiences and established itself as the capital of Reggaeton.
Becerra is merging U.S. music technology with Latin American talent to help smaller artists succeed when they otherwise wouldn’t have the means to do so. He says “I recently took a guy who had egg cartons on his walls to reduce echo, to a legitimate recording studio. The quality of their music is going to be able to grow a lot there.” As a long time lover of urban music and someone who has been consistently dedicated to helping others further themselves in their careers – this music industry project is exactly what Jerry Becerras has been searching for.
